we make one piece at a time, by hand, for one person at a time. that means we can only take on a small number of new clients at once.
the waiting list is how we manage that. joining it means we hold your place, and we contact you when we're able to take on new work.
what the £50 is
a joining fee. it pays for us to review what you send us, add you to the list, hold your place in the order it was received, and contact you when a consultation becomes available.
it is not a deposit. it isn't part-payment for anything, it isn't credited against a consultation or a piece, and it isn't refunded if you decide not to go ahead. it doesn't guarantee we'll offer you a consultation, and it doesn't reserve a production slot.
we've priced it low on purpose. it's there so the list is made up of people who genuinely want to proceed.
what happens next
shortly after you join, we'll email you a few questions — about your hair, what you've tried, and what you're hoping for. you answer in your own time. it starts the conversation properly, and it means that when a consultation comes round we already know something about you.
we'll then email you when a consultation slot opens. consultations are charged separately — virtual 30 min £400, virtual 60 min £800, in person in london 60 min £800.
commissioned pieces start from £8,000 short, £14,000 medium, £24,000 long. final pricing depends on finished length and is confirmed in writing before any work begins.
how long things take
we can't promise how long you'll wait for a consultation — it depends on how quickly current commissions complete, and it may be several months.
once a commission is agreed, a piece takes between 3 and 12 months: 3 to 5 months where we already hold suitable hair, and 6 to 12 months where hair needs sourcing to your brief. we confirm which applies to you in writing within 60 days of your commission starting.
when your piece is complete you can collect it in person from our london studio by appointment, or we can arrange insured delivery to you.
